Role Description

The Deputy Chairperson of the WA Marketing Association is a volunteer position that plays a vital role in supporting the Chairperson in overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the association. The Deputy Chairperson will assist in managing the day-to-day activities, coordinating with committee members, and promoting the objectives of the association. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for the marketing industry. The role is located in Perth, WA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chairperson in overseeing the operation of the WA Marketing Association.
  • Project manage the association’s strategic plan in conjunction with department leads/heads.
  • Collaborate with the Chairperson to develop and implement strategies to promote the marketing industry and achieve the association’s goals.
  • Coordinate and lead committee meetings in the absence of the Chairperson.
  • Support the Chairperson in managing and delegating tasks to committee members.
  • Act as a liaison between the Chairperson and committee members, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide guidance and support to committee members, assisting them in their roles and responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of events, workshops, and initiatives organized by the association.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with industry professionals, sponsors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to enhance the association’s effectiveness.
  • Represent the association at external events, conferences, and meetings when required.

Qualifications

  • Leadership and management skills
  • Experience in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience on a board or committee is highly desireable
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Experience in event planning and execution
  • Experience in fundraising and sponsorship
  • Knowledge of the WA marketing industry and community
